Computational PDEs

Research Group Computational PDEs

Many physical processes can be modeled by partial differential equations (PDEs), but only in very few cases these PDEs can be solved analytically. Instead numerical schemes have to be used to find suitable approximations. To achieve reliable approximations efficiently we consider modern discretization approaches. In this broad field of numerical methods our research efforts concentrate around the development and analysis of finite element methods for flow problems and problems with moving domains.
