Erik was a Master’s student and student worker in the CPDE group from 2021. His research interests centre on numerical methods for fluid dynamical problems.
Projects
Variational Multiscale (VMS) Turbulence Modelling – Extended an explicit and implicit DNS solver to a VMS solver using ngsolve, decomposing turbulence eddies into three scales to address problems of classical Large Eddy Simulation methods.
CO₂ electrocatalytic system modelling – Together with Constanze Heil, reproduced the work of Divya Bohra et al. on modelling the electrical double layer in a CO₂ electrocatalytic system using ngsolve.
Master’s thesis – Numerical methods for the Navier-Stokes equations on curved and evolving surfaces, using (DG) unfitted Cut-FEM with ngsxfem and Trefftz methods with ngstrefftz.
