Malte was a physics Master’s student specialising in theoretical biophysics and a student assistant supervised by Christoph Lehrenfeld. In his thesis he worked on discretisation schemes for partial differential equations that arise in a stochastic optimal control model for the optimal navigation of finite-size microswimmers in noisy flow. He was also involved in the project Shape optimisation of gyroids.
