Tim was a PostDoc in the CPDE group from 2022 to 2024, working on unfitted finite element methods for interface problems for time-harmonic Maxwell’s equations, and on dual functions for high-order vectorial basis functions as a means of fast computational interpolation and embedding operators.
Research interests
- (Unfitted) Finite Element methods for Maxwell’s equations
- High-order finite element methods and especially high-order basis functions
- Orthogonal polynomials and special functions
- Application of computer algebra to high-order FEM
Thesis
Tim’s PhD thesis Applications of Special Functions in High Order Finite Element Methods was written under the supervision of Prof. Sven Beuchler at the Leibniz University of Hannover. His Master’s thesis on hydrostatic reconstructed FORCE schemes for shallow water equations was written at the University of Bremen.
